From suffering to superpower

How the Honor Window saved a 7-year brotherhood and gave Hans Comyn "the power to make miracles happen"

Hans Comyn and Zan met in 2008. They had similar visions, became best friends, traveled together, worked together, chased girls together, taught what they learned to guys around the world.

"We were married, I would say we were really like married," Hans says. They started a global network together. It was a glorious story until 2015.

The breakup

"He wanted a divorce. Basically he kicked me out... It was a big shock to me. I didn't see it coming and I went into a daze, into shock."

What followed was three years of suffering.

"Feelings of anger, hatred, sadness, disappointment, self-righteousness. I had a very valid case for why he treated me badly... All of it. I really went through a dark period."

"My hands clasping the hands that clasp mine, I look into the eyes of my allies."

Meeting Michael & the Honor Window

In 2018, Hans met Michael Skye.

"What I found with his work was real life tools, human technologies... to explore what honor is, how it feels, how we can use it to save relationships, to safeguard relationships from going bad and to resuscitate them when they have gone bad."

The Breakthrough

Hans realized something profound:

"I saw very clearly how I'm suffering from my judgments of Zan. That's not from how he treated me, but my judgments of him that made me suffer. And so also, I can break down the walls of my judgment and so relieve my suffering."

"What? That's already worth it. And I could possibly save this relationship. I'm gonna remember myself and people who are gonna know me as the one who did it."

The reunion

Hans got Zan on an interview.

"All I did in the first 10 minutes was honor him. Honor him for his path, for his message, and even for kicking me out. 'Cause I saw what he was standing for in that moment. He was standing for the message... He was even standing for my greatness."

Like a mother bird would kick out the little bird so it would fly.

"I felt honored and me speaking it in public with him present... and people on the interview from the internet being present is super powerful."

The superpower

This summer, Zan asked Hans to lead their organization again.

"That's insane in a way, you know, 'cause three years ago we're not talking. Now he's trusting his life's work in my hands."

Hans reflects on what he's discovered:

"It's in a way the power to make miracles happen. That's how it feels. It's like a superpower I have... 'cause I could see it work."

"I have now a mantra for me: Lead or suffer. Whenever I suffer, I know it's because I'm judging."

"I think the greatest role Michael has played in my life, or the impact he has, is showing up as an ally... I think it's the most precious gift you could do for another man, for another person."
